Examine your heart

Some thoughts going through my head this morning I want to share:

As bad as things may ever get, God is never mad at you. God loves you. God doesn”t expect you to be perfect.  He knows you’re gonna make mistakes.  I do too.  But God would rather have someone who makes a few mistakes but has a really right heart, than someone who does everything right. (Someone who follows all the rules, does everything right, but has a stinky attitude.)  Lately your attitude hasn’t been te best, and I encourage you son to really work HARD on that.  Attitude is everything. As your parents, and God, we are not as concerned with a perfect performance as we are with you having a good heart and is constantly GROWING.

God knew what He was getting when He made you!  He’ll never say “Shape up, or Ship Out”. Neither will I. God knew how stubborn you (and I) were when He allowed you to have a relationship with Him.  You and I are so alike! Lol.

Examine your heart son. How is your heart? How is your attitude? Are you growing spiritually? Are you different this year than you were last year? Do you behave better now than you did in the past? Not perfect. Just better. (Look up Mathew 5:48 about perfection).  Do you go to church and act totally different when you leave? Our relationship with God is not a Sunday morning event. Let God into every single area of your life.

Anything God tells us to do, He will give us the strength and ability to do. Lean on Him. Never say “its just to hard” or “I just can’t help it”. Always think, “I can do whatever God tells me to do through Christ, who strengthens me”.

Do you WANT to grow? Do you want to change? Do you pray to God to show you where you can be better and help you through it? Do you want to read the word? Do you want to have a “good heart”?  Are you a fully committed Christian or lukewarm? I loved seeing you on fire for God last week when you came home from Youth Group. But since then, what has changed in your daily attitude and life?

Be committed. Consecrated. Dedicated.

Dedicate your money.  Dedicate your time. Dedicate your life.  LIVE to GIVE. Be used by God. Volunteer  and help others. Love others. Sacrifice. I’m very proud of your heart and how you help others and volunteer in our community. Don’t let that slip.  Keep it up.  Just be sure you are always doing it for the right reasons.  I love you son and am proud of you.  <3 mom

Check Yes or No

Keep your Girl Safe..

When you are out, be aware of your surroundings at all times.  Keep an eye out for unsafe or unusual people, events, weather, or any circumstance that can harm any of you.

BE AWARE!

YOU are her protector.

Cold Winters

In the Winter, start her car for her so she doesn’t have to go out in the cold.  Scrape the windows as needed.  If she appears even the slightest bit chilly, give her your coat.

It’s the little things that mean SO MUCH.

A Guy that remembers..

Ya know that Live Chat Singles’ type commercial where the barista coffee guy knows exactly what she wants to order for her latte? Chicks totally dig that, it’s true! (We don’t like our sentences finished like that all the time, but we do like you to remember things about us!)

She’s a Lady….whoa whoa whoa….She’s a lady!

Okay, I’m sure you are too young to know that song, heck so am I !!

Treat her like a lady. Like a princess.  Talk to her with respect.  Honor.  As an equal.  Don’t talk down to her.  Don’t walk in front of her.  Unless to protect her.  Walk beside her.

So here’s the old 1974 hit by Tom Jones.  Funny clothes.  Go ahead and check it out.  I was only four but I know this one.

NEVER be a cheater!

if you decide while dating, courting, leading on, somewhat dating, anything,… and you decide you wanna be with someone else instead, END IT with the first girl before even flirting with the next. DON’T BE A HEART-BREAKER or I’ll come afta’ yo a** !!  It’s all about RESPECT!

Moderation Baby!

We all know we should BALANCE our lives.  We need to do things in MODERATION.  Having your PRIORITIES straight is the first step.  Many of us are workaholics, health nuts, family-oriented, and that’s all great.  However, these these must be balanced.  Remember the writing dad had on my office white board.

FAITH

FAMILY

FINANCES

FRIENDS

FISHING

lol.  Everyone’s list will vary.  I trust you have education and work close to the top somewhere, which I assume dad plugs in under finances.  xoxo

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

“Always Look on the Bright Side of Life”… Ah those song lyrics from Monty Python always make me smile.  :-)

Always accentuate the positive.  A bad day at work shouldn’t ruin your evening at home with your spouse.  Don’t dwell on the negative.

Don’t worry.  Be happy.
